Earn What You’re Really Worth – Part One – Transcript
Hey everyone! It’s Kelly Harrell again with Money Tree Academy.
Over the next coming days, I’m going to be doing a series on “Why You’re Not Earning What You’re Worth?”
Now, some people get really hung up with the whole, “Earning what I’m worth?” Because really at the bottom of it, we all know you are priceless. And, that will never ever, ever change. You are priceless and your value goes beyond measure. What I’m talking about is what value you can command in dollars for the value that you bring to the table. That’s really what it is.
The obstacles to earn you’re really worth are unique to every individual. So what I’m going to be covering are some of the most frequent reasons that I have seen in my own client base and then also through my own journey. So let’s just dive in and we’ll cover one of the first reasons. I’m going to be covering probably about 9, I think in total, so just stay tuned.
So today’s reason is going to be, you’re not clear on the value that you offer—what is it that YOU, who you are, and how you serve, how does that really coalesce?
So, a lot of times you have a loose sense of it. Your clients will kind of have a loose sense of it, maybe your network has a loose sense of it. If you work for an employer, your employer has a loose sense of it. But what is that real value?
Chances are that you have not yet done the work to figure it out. So, the problem (key obstacle to earn what you’re really worth) usually lies in not knowing how your interests, skills and passions line up with what the marketplace is begging for. So until you understand how all those pieces match up to the market desire and the market need, it can be really hard to confidently set the prices that you want to command. Because if you are offering up something and it’s just watered-down or it’s not exactly what the market wants, you’re going to meet a lot of push back on the price that you bring to the table.
But when those two things line up, when you bypass those obstacles of knowing what you love, what interests you, and gets you excited and you can see yourself doing for a long time so that you can have a long runway to build an amazing business or a career. And, when it lines up with what the market is really wanting, then that’s where magic can come together. So learning how those moving parts of what you bring to the table, who you want to serve, what their biggest desires are, bringing all those together can have a major, major impact on your ability to earn what you’re worth.
